This is not really a HC car, but I figured I’d post it here too to tempt some honda guys to race against bimmers and vettes. It was built for NASA ST3/4 and enduros.
Engine and trans: H1 legal k24a2 with k20 cam gears and k20 oil pump, oil pump and bottom end bearing recently changed to prep for the 25 hour. ACT clutch with ACT flywheel. JDM CTR trans with Kaaz LSD. J crew header, Custom 3″ exhaust, about 95dB @ 100′. Accusump.
Suspension: Koni 3011 double adjustable steel bodies, bulletproof shocks. All point spherical bearings. 5th gen prelude front knuckles and rear spindles with 5×114.3 hubs also new in preparation for the 25 hour. The prelude hubs are huge and reliable. Brakes are 5th gen prelude, all bolt on, no custom rotors or brackets, also only 1 event prepped for the 25.
Body: Custom steel widebody. Wheels are 15×8 40mm offset with hoosier 245/50r15 r7. They actually measure out to about 275, but in any case plenty of room for tons of rubber. Weighs about 1950 lbs wet w/o driver. There is no carbon on the car yet so plenty of room take more weight out. Custom roll cage integrated at A and B pillars, racetech seat and belts, autometer old school gauges with fuel gauge (enduros) 22 gallon fuel cell.
As I said earlier I recently built this car for NASA ST3 and enduros, but owning/running/maintaining 2 cars has proven less fun then anticipated and I can’t bring myself to part with my prelude so the CRX is on the block. Here are a couple videos, miller ST3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB5N2SDn3ag Laguna ST3 https://youtu.be/IvufkcO0sT8 Goto el dorado motorsports facebook page and scroll down for a few build photos. I the car was prepped and ready for this years 25 hour so she it ready to hit the track, needs nothing.
